She stared. All she could do was stare. The youngling beside her assessed his surroundings through the deluge of the rain. She had never spent this much time with a foal before, they were usually taken away from her withing minutes after birth. Yet this time the Keepers let him stay. They let the wild She-Devil mare keep her son, Alecchio, the Harlequin.

The colt reminded her of Carnival, the oddly-colored stallion who was to be his father. His face resembled that of the red, white and black show horse and he had his same jewel green eyes. Yet... something reminded this colt much of herself as well. His color was closer to hers, green and Brown patterns crossed his skinny frame. His legs were banded, just like hers, and his forelock was long and fizzed like hers. He hadn't a speck of red hair on him, much unlike his father.

For a time, the wild mare could only look at the foal that lay beside her, the foal she knew she'd have to raise. The little harlequin looked to her with confusion in his eyes. She merely stared back, her expression cold and lost. As the little one turned away, she burred in deep frustration.

'What am I to do now?'


Hi everybody! Sorry this is late, I decided to take my sweet time doing it >.<

So, this is Dia with her foal Alecchio, son of Carnival. Alecchio's name is a variation of the Italian word Arlecchino, which means Harlequin. I found it fitting At first, Alec was going to be pretty much a carbon-copy of his sire. But when I really got to thinking about it, I decided it would be fun to make him a bit different from Carnival. So what did I do? I made it so HE HAS NO RED! 0_o Shocking isn't it! A colt in the Ghede bloodline HAS NO RED IN HIS MANE OR COAT!! >_> <_< The world is coming to an end

I'll be posting a pic of Alec all grown up soon, and then he can be bread to any mare of your choosing^^
